First Peoples of the Rocky Mountain West at the La Prele Mammoth Site, Wyoming

Presenter:  Dr. Todd Surovell

The La Prele Mammoth site is an Early Paleoindian site that preserves the remains of a killed or scavenged sub-adult Columbian mammoth and an associated camp. Investigations at the site have spanned almost 40 years. Recent work at the site has elucidated many surprising aspects of the social organization and technology of the first Americans. (More)

the Upper Crossing Guard Station, Dry Creek, and possibly Mr. Peat in the San Luis Valley.
