To the Pikes Peak Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society.

We care about archaeology, anthropology, and history. While some of our members are professional archaeologists or historians, many of us are amateurs who are eager to expand our knowledge. We love to learn – and we love to explore!

Presenter John Haney will share with us the “History of the El Paso Canal.”  General Palmer, Colorado Springs founder and first “developer” of Colorado Springs, sought to sell lots and create a lush resort on ground that was nothing more than dry desert. (More)

Community Outreach and Education

 Bob Kilgore will be teaching “Lithics – Stone Tools and Stone Weapons” to the public on Thursday, August 25th from 3:30 to 4:30 pm in the Red Rocks Room at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center.
